Furry Coral Crabs (Cymo melanodactylus) are small marine decapod crustacean arthropods circa 2 cm long, living in the Indo-Pacific Ocean in the crevices of corals at the bottom of the sea. They are covered with short fur and have large pale stalked eyes. The crab’s best defense is hiding while being camouflaged. Just in case camouflage doesn’t work, God created them with a pair of claws. The Furry Coral crab has 4 pair of legs and a pair of claws. Males have small abdomens because they don’t have to carry the eggs, and larger claws for defense. Feeding on zooplanktons and mucus secreted by the coral. They communicate by drumming or waving their claws and they walk sideways, that is why some people say crabwise.
