Last night, we celebrated with you the winners of our sixth season of competition ‘The Challenge’, where history was made by some of the winning photographs on show.
On behalf of myself and the HIPA Board of Trustees, I wish to thank all of our media partners for their continued support over the past year. Many of our major achievements and milestones are owed to you as our partners in spreading the art of photography to photographers from all walks of life all around the world.
Here at HIPA, we continue to work under the guidance and direction of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Executive Council and Patron of HIPA toward promoting photographers and inspiring them to excel in their beloved artform.
Over the past six years, we have experimented with various initiatives and projects to help achieve our Patron’s great ambitions. Amongst these was the introduction of the ‘Portfolio’ category last season which attracted some of the finest photographers and photographs that HIPA has ever seen. In fact, this category was able to attract over 33,950 photographs last season, the majority of which were of a very high quality and standard.
This coming season we plan to launch the ‘For You’ initiative, which is set to be a humanitarian project for children around the world.
This initiative and our upcoming season will come on the back of HIPA surpassing over a quarter of a million submissions since its inception, a feat many of us are proud of. In fact it is our goal to ensure we continue to grow in the coming years to further surpass our expectations and those of our Patron.
To this tone, we wish to announce today the theme of our seventh season of competition which will be ‘The Moment’.
