| Dar al Mussawir and in collaboration with Thomson Foundation and The British Council cordially invite you to the “Looking for the Truth” photography exhibition opening on Thursday July 12, 2018 at 7 pm in Dar El Nimr, Hamra.
Photo stories from Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and Yemen showing the cultural heritage and diversity in those countries. About the program: This exhibition concludes a photojournalism and documentary photography training program run by Dar Al Mussawir, Thomson Foundation and the British Council. Between April and July 2018, fifteen emerging photographers from Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, and Yemen have worked with UK and Lebanese professionals to develop their professional confidence, technical skills and creative practice through an intensive programme of applied training and mentoring. In addition to building their skills in photojournalism, the programme has worked with the participants to help them gain access to international journalistic markets, connect with their peers and reflect on the ethical challenges of working as a photographer in conflict-affected places. To celebrate the end of the first edition of the programme, we are delighted to invite you to the opening of this exhibition which showcases a selection of photographs produced by the participants in the course of the training. The images exhibited respond to the theme of heritage and seek to shed light on the diversity and complexity of identity in conflict and post-conflict contexts in Yemen, Syria and Lebanon. Exhibition moves to Dar Al Mussawir on July 16 and continues until July 27. |

“البحث عن الحقيقة”
معرض تصوير فوتوغرافي نهار الخميس ١٢ تموز ٢٠١٨ عند الساعة السابعة مساء وذلك في دار النمر، الحمرا.
قصص مصورة من لبنان، فلسطين، سوريا واليمن تظهر التنوع في الإرث الثقافي في هذه البلدان. عن البرنامج: يأتي هذا المعرض ختاماً لبرنامج تدريبي على التصوير الصحفي والتوثيقي أقامه دار المصور ومؤسسة طومسون بالتعاون مع المجلس الثقافي البريطاني. عمل البرنامج، إلى جانب تطوير مهارات المشتركين في التصوير الصحفي، على بناء الثقة لديهم، تمكينهم من فتح مجالات عمل جديدة عالمية في مجال الصحافة، توثيق التغيير في المجتمعات التي تشهد ظروف قاسية مع التركيز على الممارسات الأخلاقية للمهنة وكيفية التصرف في أماكن النزاع. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، تعرف المشتركون على الجوانب التقنية للتصوير، السرد القصصي وريادة الأعمال من خلال ورش تدريبية حية وأخرى على الإنترنت.
يتم الافتتاح في دار النمر، نهار الخميس ١٢ تموز ٢٠١٨ عند الساعة السابعة مساء ويستمر لغاية ١٣ منه ينتقل المعرض إلى دار المصور في ١٦ تموز ويستمر لغاية ٢٧ منه |
