Although I thought the film otherwise did not have good standards. For a start the end was much to fast-paced, and predictable. The audio was terrible, particularly at the start, when the men were talking on the boat.
Merian C. Cooper said he was very fond of strong, hard-sounding words that started with the letter “K”. He loved the name, as it had a “mystery sound” to it. The search party encounters dinosaurs, enormous bugs, vicious bats netent slot and, of course, a cranky monkey who comes to appreciate Ann as more than just a late-night snack. So Ann and Kong open a nice little bed-and-breakfast to give those uptight natives a place to unwind and play racquetball.

On the island, Kong battles three T-Rexes (biting the tongue out of one and breaking its jaw), a swarm of bats, and men wielding machine guns, harpoons and knock-out gas. 1933 monster movie about a giant ape which remains an unparalleled horror-fantasy. When I initially read the description of this novel about a shooting in the housing projects, the story did not interest me. But right from the beginning the characters are a kind of charming that made me want to get to know them.
Last month we read “American Dirt” which had a lot of controversy over a non-Hispanic, non-emigrant writing a book about Hispanic emigrants. I thought it was a well-researched, unbiased novel. Maybe it is because the news media has not been focused on immigration in several months. The only news lately, other than COVID, seems to be about riots stemming from race issues.
